Judy, Therapy Dog in Training
Judy is an 8-pound rescue Yorkie-Poo. In September of 2021, she was adopted, and we think she is around 5 years old. She recently joined the Therapy and Mindfulness team. Lately, she has been practicing her skills as a therapy dog during in-person therapy sessions with teen and young adult clients. We are hoping to get more volunteer hours so she can eventually earn her official Therapy Dog Title. Sometimes she might bark because she is scared or just wants to say “hi,” but she is learning to be more polite!
Her favorite things are going on long walks through the neighborhood and spending time with her tabby cat brothers, Ernie and Fred. She loves being held and cuddled by trusted humans. Her favorite food is cheese.
Fun fact about Judy: She is a mom! Before she was rescued, she had several litters of puppies. She lived in a rural part of Virginia, where she spent a lot of time outdoors exploring. Now she lives with her forever family in Kensington, Maryland.
